The two largest aftershocks in Christchurch this afternoon caused liquefaction in the eastern suburbs once again.

Frustrated residents watched as the mud bubbled up through their properties.

Ramage’s neighbour Barry Waldron says liquefaction has bubbled up through his property again.

“All through the backyard, everywhere, it is just everywhere and it is just bubbling up,” said Waldron. “In some places it is18 inches high”.

Residents are fed up with having to clean the silt.

“It's just annoying that it keeps coming back,” said Ramage.

Dazed people walked through the streets reviewing the damage.

Liquefaction flooded the streets in the eastern suburbs, causing traffic problems.

Linette Neill was driving through Bromley when she got stuck in a sink hole for the second time today.

“I couldn't believe it, I got out of Armagh Street alright and then in Carters Road I ended up in a hole, and now here,” said Neill.

The constant frustration is wearing people down as quakes continue to rock the region.
