South Island ski fields have received their first snow fall for 2016.
The ski season doesn't get underway until June but three mountains have been treated to an early dusting of snow with a cold southerly moving up the country.
It's currently snowing at Canterbury's Mt Hutt Ski Area with temperatures dropping to -2degC.
Roundhill Ski Area in Tekapo has also received a light dusting of snow, interrupting "a few projects" going on at the mountain.
"We're hoping we don't see too much more of the white stuff until end of May."

Canterbury's Porters Ski Field also has snow at the top and freezing temperatures.
