The mother of Kiwi victim Warriena Wright has released a statement outside court on Thursday in Australia slamming the judge for allowing the release of audio tapes of her last moments, and the media for playing them.

"I did not want to hear my daughter screaming," a family spokesperson said on her behalf.

"I want to be left alone."

Ms Wright's mother, Merzabeth Tagpuno, has been attending the trial of Gable Tostee, who has been charged with murdering the 26-year-old woman in the early hours of August 8, 2014 - along with Ms Wright's father and sister Reza.

The prosecution claims Tostee tried to strangle her before locking her outside on the balcony and she was so terrified she tried to climb down.

However, a pathologist told the jury on Thursday she didn't find any injuries on Ms Wright's body consistent with strangulation.

In a three-hour audio recording Tostee secretly made the night they met after a Tinder hook up, the court heard Ms Wright scream "No" repeatedly and "leave me alone" before she went quiet.

Ms Tagpuno broke down in court, as she heard her daughter's screams.

"You're lucky I haven't thrown you off the balcony you goddamn psycho little b****. Who the f*** do you think you are?" Tostee said in the recording.

"You're not going to collect any belongings, you're just going to walk out.

"If you try to pull anything I'll knock you out, I'll knock you the f*** out - do you understand?"

"To the media, you have made this trip the most saddest, hardest trip I have ever had to endure.

"I asked not to release the audio tapes - yet I was over-ruled by the judge. I did not want to hear my daughter screaming 'No, no, no'. I did not want to remember her like that.

"I feel our family had been disrespected by the judge's ruling to release the audio tapes to the media. To those who want an exclusive from my family, we're saying 'No'. The judge gave you everything - that is enough.

"The media have hurt me so bad. When this is over I will go back to New Zealand. I want to be left alone. Please respect my privacy, I will not talk to anybody; just leave our family in peace.

No matter how this goes, I just want to go home."
