Now that Happy Feet is healthy and thriving, Wellington Zoo have decided to feed him just once a day.
Feeding takes place between 4pm and 6pm New Zealand time, depending on the workload of zoo staff.
Because so many of Happy Feet’s fans have been asking about it, 3 News has managed to capture his feeding time on video so that you can watch it at any time of the day.
What is Happy Feet's dinner made up of:
- The liquid is fluids and electrolytes - so basically it is penguin powerade
- He is fed 1kg of salmon or sardines once per day; this has reduced because he is doing well.
- He now weighs 26 kg
