Police are talking with a man in relation to a shooting in New Plymouth that left one man in hospital.
At around 5pm police were called to the suburb of Spotswood after "a number of shots had been fired".
The man who was shot is in hospital with serious injuries.
Police had earlier hunted for the alleged gunman, warning he was armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
They now say they've located a man who is helping with inquiries and no one else is being sought in relation to the incident.
