Lawyers for a terminally ill Wellington woman fighting for the right to die will begin arguing her case in court.

Lecretia Seales, 41, has petitioned the High Court to uphold her right to die at the time of her choosing.

The public law specialist has asked the court for a declaratory judgment that would protect her GP from criminal prosecution if, and when, her doctor assists her to die.
