Police are investigating after a serious assault in New Plymouth early this morning.
The assault happened on Currie St in the CBD at around 3am, police say.
The victim is in a serious condition in Wellington Hospital.
Investigators are appealing to the public for information, and would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the event.
