Stockton coal mine workers will today find out if they will lose their jobs.
Earlier this month the mine’s owner Solid Energy said it would cut 151 jobs in the company to save costs.
Prices for coking coal had continued to fall since June last year, when the company made production cuts.
A total of 184 workers were made redundant, leaving only 400 workers and 40 contractors’ jobs remaining.
A statement is due to be issued about the job cuts later today.
