Two people have died in a serious crash on State Highway 6 at Marlborough’s Pelorus Bridge.
The crash involved two vehicles and occurred shortly after 1pm on the Nelson side of the bridge. One of the vehicles is understood to be a ute with a motorcycle on the back.
At least two others were injured in the incident.
Emergency services are in attendance and State Highway 6 between Blenheim and Nelson has been closed as a result of the crash. However, no detours are in place.
Road blocks are in place at Hira, north of Nelson and also at Canvastown. Motorists are warned to expect delays.
