One person has died and another is injured following a serious crash between two trucks near Matamata.
A tow truck and a semi-trailer truck were involved in the incident on State Highway 27 near Mangawhero Bridge, which is locally known as Kneebone Bridge, in Waikato.
The Fire Service, police and ambulance all attended the scene on Thursday night.
Both drivers were freed from their vehicles, but one died at the scene. The other has minor injuries.
The Serious Crash Unit and the Commercial Vehicle Investigation Unit are investigating.
Diversions are in place.
