MediaWorks has announced Andrew Gourdie and Michelle Pickles will present sport for Newshub Live at 6pm.

As part of his new role as Newshub sports contributor, Gourdie will provide sporting commentary and analysis across Newshub’s digital and social platforms. Gourdie will also co-host Super Sport Sunday alongside Ashlee Tulloch, and present on Newshub Live at 6pm Monday to Wednesday.

He will be a part of RadioLIVE's Sunday Sport show and is working with the LIVE team on a show that will launch in the coming weeks.

Pickles’ current Newshub Live at 6pm sports hosting role will expand to Thursday to Saturday evenings. Michelle will continue as a reporter and producer, and will lead Newshub’s Olympic coverage in Rio de Janeiro alongside Mike McRoberts.

"As our new Newshub Sports Contributor, Andrew will provide New Zealanders with world-class sporting coverage and analysis across all Newshub platforms.

"Michelle’s decade of experience covering every major national and international sporting event, and amazing connections with Kiwi athletes, means Newshub will continue to share the most incredible moments in New Zealand sport," says acting chief news officer Richard Sutherland.

Gourdie joined MediaWorks in 2005 and has covered the All Whites’ unbeaten run at the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the All Blacks’ 2011 Rugby World Cup victory, and the Black Caps’ historic 2015 Cricket World Cup campaign.  Prior to his time at MediaWorks, Gourdie was a sports reporter at SKY.

Michelle Pickles in her roles as Newshub Sport presenter, reporter and producer has reported from every major international sporting event, including the Commonwealth Games, Summer and Winter Olympic Games, Rugby World Cup, America’s Cup, World Rowing Championships and Ironman World Championships.  A former NZ representative athlete, Pickles has been with Newshub since 2002, having spent the previous five years at TVNZ in a variety of producing and reporting roles.

The new presenter line-up will begin on Sunday April 24.
