Breakers and Tall Blacks star Corey Webster has been arrested after an alleged assault at an Auckland bar.

The Breakers have confirmed that the 28-year-old, believed to be celebrating his birthday, was detained by police after they were called to The Takapuna Bar on reports of a fight.

Police have advised that the victim wasn't seriously injured and that Webster has since been granted bail, due to appear at North Shore District Court on Monday.

The Breakers released a brief statement saying that they're aware of the allegations and are currently 'making further enquiries into what occurred'.

It's the second time the shooting guard has been caught up in an off-court incident while with the Breakers, he was released from his two-year contract back in 2011 after violating the club's anti-drug policy by using synthetic cannabis.

He was re-signed to a new three-year deal in 2012, going on to become a key component in the side's third straight NBL championship.

Earlier this year Webster attended NBA summer camp with the New Orleans Pelicans but was unable to secure a roster spot.
