The curfew five have returned to the Hurricanes side for Friday night's clash with the Highlanders at Westpac Stadium.

Loose forwards Victor Vito and Ardie Savea, as well as wings Julian Savea and Cory Jane, return to the starting fifteen, while prop Chris Eves has been named among the reserves.

Captain Dane Coles has passed a fitness test to lead the side, while lock Michael Fatialofa cleared concussion protocols.

Wes Goosen and Jason Woodward, who starred in last week's win over the Reds, return to the bench.

"This was a very tough team to select," coach Chris Boyd said. "We've got a lot of guys who are fit and in form at the moment, which is great, but makes things tough for the coaches when it comes to naming the team.

"All indications are there will be a big crowd at Westpac Stadium and that really pumps up the guys to perform in front of their home fans. It adds a real edge and nobody is under any illusion that this is an important match for both teams."
