Ex-Super 14 player arrested for keeping personal slave

A former Super 14 Rugby player has been arrested for keeping an illegal immigrant as his personal slave at his home in France.

Tongan born, Finau Maka, lives and plays in Toulouse with his wife and son and is accused of sharing his home with a Tunisian man who he's accused to forcing to do things against his will.

A spokesperson for the Toulouse club, Aurelie Bernard, says it's a personal matter and the club is still learning of the situation.

“We do not have enough information about this problem so we can’t communicate yet,” she says.

Maka grew up in New Zealand and played for the Hurricanes, Blues and Highlanders before being lured to France where has been playing for the last eight years.
