Wests Tigers hooker Robbie Farah ran out onto Leichhardt Oval on Saturday afternoon as a member of the Tigers' New South Wales Cup side against the Newton Jets.

The Tigers won the game 42-24.

Post-game, hundreds of Tigers fans swamped Farah - many of whom chanted "Sack JT", in reference to Tigers coach Jason Taylor.

When asked if he thought his NRL career with the Tigers was over, Farah replied it was possible, but said sentimentality has "gone out the window" for him.

"Today is a day I will never forget," he said.

"I will look back in 10 or 20 years and remember all the people who showed up in support of me, whether I play another game for the Tigers or not.

"I have given my career to this club and, in 20 years' time, I would like to think the fans will still remember me as a player who has given my all for the club."

Current Tigers captain Aaron Woods, along with former teammates Tim Moltzen and Benji Marshall, watched from the sideline.

Just a week after being a part of NSW's State of Origin III win over Queensland, Farah's future is in doubt after coach Jason Taylor declared his NRL side was better without the 247-game veteran hooker.

"Robbie is a creative dummy-half and we have a number of creative players in our team," Taylor said.

"There is only one ball and it is hard to have too many creative players. That is the clearest way I can put it in terms of how of our team runs and how we would like it to run."

The Tigers face off against the Dragons on Sunday night.
