UFC President Dana White has announced that Mark Hunt's fight against WWE superstar Brock Lesnar will now become the main event at UFC 200 after Jon Jones failed a pre-fight doping test.

Jones was set to rematch against Dan Cormier in a bid to reclaim his UFC light heavyweight title but the fight has since been scrapped following his failed result in a pre-fight USADA drug test.

Hunt moving into the headline fight on the UFC's biggest card in history will mean a financial windfall for the 'Super Samoan', affording him a larger percentage of the overall pay-per-view buys.

Jones' positive sample came from an 'out-of-competition' test, but it's not yet clear exactly what the substance was.

White is still hoping to find another opponent for Cormier, the former Olympian wrestler devastated by the news.

"I'm very disappointed. I worked really hard for this," said Cormier in a recent press conference.

"I prepped for UFC 200. This is the big one, it means everything to me. This one stings, this is not easy to deal with."

White himself was philosophical about the news.

"If a fight of this magnitude is going to fall off, at least it's on the biggest, baddest card we've ever assembled."

As for Jones' fate?

"He might get a two-year suspension for this. Who knows?"

This is the second time Jones has failed a drugs test, also testing positive to cocaine metabolites in December 2014 ahead of his UFC 182 fight with Cormier.

He claimed that positive test was the result of a wild night of partying.

Jones, who holds a career record of 22-1, also served a suspension in 2015 for his involvement in a hit-and-run accident.
