Joseph Parker's handlers Duco have signed a major co-promotion agreement with the most experienced promoters on the planet in Bob Arum and his company Top Rank.

The agreement will see Top Rank promote Parker in major foreign markets and will have a big impact on the trajectory of Parker's career.

Since 1973, Top Rank has promoted the biggest names in boxing including Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, Floyd Mayweather Junior and Manny Pacquiao.

"The deal was simple, it makes sense and we're excited about it," said Duco Events owner David Higgins.

"We think exactly the same as bob and I think our companies are very well aligned and think similarly."

While a lot will hinge on the fight on Saturday, the gravity of the agreement wasn't lost on Parker who visited his old school Marcellin College in Auckland today.

"What an amazing feeling having a guy like that wants me. He's a legend in the sport."

Curiously, Duco's meeting with Arum today was held in plain view of his own fighter, Andy Ruiz.

And he expects that they'll maintain a relationship with Duco whatever the result on Saturday.

"Having been in this business 50 plus years, I don't expect anybody to win this fight," said Arum at his first press conference since arriving in the country.

"Irrespective of who wins, the partnership with duco will continue and go on."
