New Zealand's sailing contingent has had another impressive day in Spanish waters at the 49er European Championships.

Peter Burling and Blair Tuke continued their dominance of the 49er class, pushing 41 points clear of Australian duo Nathan Outteridge and Iain Jensen in second place --and the pair look well on track for their fourth 49er world championship win on the bounce.

On the penultimate day, Burling and Tuke raced three times -- finishing in 3rd, 17th and 2nd -- to put themselves in a good position to claim another title.

However they first have to compete in three gold fleet races tomorrow, before a medal race late in the day.

Fellow Kiwis Alex Maloney and Molly Meech are also in real contention for a spot on the podium in Barcelona, going into the final day in fourth spot in the 49erFX class.

The duo has real momentum after picking up an extremely promising 4th, 2nd and 4th in their three races today -- leaving them just eight points off Spain's Tamara Echegoyen and Berta Betanzos in third and a further one point of the crew in second.
