Reports have surfaced that veteran winger Manu Vatuvei's time with the Warriors may be drawing to a close.

Fairfax Media has stated that the 30-year-old, despite having three years remaining on his contract, is being touted around both Japanese rugby and the English Super league, with particular interest being drawn by powerhouse St. Helens.

Following last month's energy drink and pain-killer controversy Vatuvei has been on extended leave from the club, not considered for selection in last weekend's rout by the Canberra Raiders.

Just two weeks ago fellow winger Ken Maumalo's impending release to the Dragons was withdrawn, promoting speculation that Vatuvei's future entering uncertain territory.

His salary commands one of the higher rates at the Warriors, and freeing that money from the books would allow them more flexibility in approaching some higher profile names for potential recruitment.

Vatuvei has spent his entire career to date with the Auckland-based club, having made 215 appearances dating back to 2004, including a player of the year nod in 2010.
