Phoenix players have remained tight-lipped as they arrived back in Wellington amid the sudden resignation of head coach Ernie Merrick.
The players refused to make any comment as they made their way through Wellington after their return from Australia where a loss to Adelaide United saw them slump to the bottom of the A-League ladder.
There was no sign of Merrick himself with the Scotsman ushered out of a side door to avoid the waiting media.
Interim appointments Chris Greenacre and Des Buckingham confirmed that Merrick and club bosses would front a press conference at midday on Tuesday.
