Hurricanes captain Dane Coles is still a chance to play this weekend's Super Rugby semi-final against the Chiefs at Westpac Stadium.
The hooker injured his ribs during the big quarterfinal win over the Sharks on the weekend.
Assistant coach John Plumtree wasn't able to give a firm update on his condition this morning.
"Still no news," Plumtree told a media press conference.
"The doctors will suss him out. I heard he was pretty sore yesterday, hopefully he's better today, but we've got the rest of the week."
Plumtree said there was no time frame on Coles, but added the decision will likely be a late call.
