New Zealand Breakers swingman Thomas Abercrombie was left dejected following his side's 75-52 loss to Perth Wildcats in game three of the NBL final series.

Abercrombie was the Breakers highest scorer with 21 points, but no other player managed to crack double digits as things didn't fall the New Zealanders way and Perth wrapped up their seventh NBL Championship.

"It's one of those ones where we'll look back on just gutted we never gave ourselves a chance," said Abercrombie.

"We weren't really ever in the game. They went on that little blitz in the third quarter and we weren't able to get ourselves back in it and give ourselves a shot which was disappointing."

Abercrombie said giving up big offensive rebounds and turnovers were the Breakers downfall, and that fuelled the home crowd behind the Wildcats.

"It's a disappointing way to come out and play in a game three. We didn't have it tonight for some reason, which is a tough pill to swallow."

Breakers captain Mika Vukona added that the team was in good spirits heading into the deciding game.

"We felt like we came out [to Perth] with the right mentality, but things just didn't bounce our way," said Vukona.

"I'm proud of what the boys have done this season, we just came up a little bit short."
