Olympic Bronze medal winner George Bridgewater and his team in the men's quadruple sculls are slogging it out for one of just two hotly contested spots left at Rio.

They're one of seven teams fighting for those precious places in the final round at the 'Last Chance Regatta' in Lucerne, Switzerland.

In their heat they snuck into first place - beating the USA by 1400s of a second - and doing enough to secure them a place in the finals.

If successful in Switzerland, Rio will be Bridgewater's major comeback having left the sport after his success at the Beijing Olympics to study, work and start a family.

He spoke to Europe Correspondent Tova O'Brien about his love of rowing and why it drew him back.
