Nine-time Olympic Gold medallist Usain Bolt is hoping to be a professional footballer when he retires from sprinting, but he could be a long way off achieving that goal.

"It's definitely something that I want to do and we're putting things in place to make it happen," he told Sky Sports News HQ.

"There has been a lot of talk and a lot of work and we'll see what happens with that.

"The boss of Puma knows Dortmund and he made the call. They said they didn't mind and they'd be excited to have me train with them.

"I'm going to do that after the season and see what happens. It'd be something big for me; if I could get in the Manchester United jersey that'd be massive for me."

Bolt joined amateur French side JS Saint-Jean Beaulieu for a workout on Friday (Local time). Players from that club said be performed well but footage of his performance would suggest he is off the mark.

The 30-year-old has plenty of time to improve on his football skills, as his last professional event , the 2017 World Athletics Championships, will take place in London in August.
