Kiwi Paul Lasike has helped the Chicago Bears score a touchdown during their 29-14 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Lasike, appearing in his second game for the Bears, was the lead blocker for running back Jeremy Langford's touchdown run in the second quarter.

The New Zealander's primary role as a fullback for the Bears will be doing the dirty work and picking up blocks, although he did get a chance to run with the ball.

Needing one yard for the first down, quarterback Jay Cutler handed off to Lasike and the Kiwi barrelled ahead for two yards.

The run prompted commentator Sean McDonough to run through Lasike's history.

"The New Zealander who came to this country to play rugby at [Brigham Young University] where he was an All-American rugby player," said McDonough. "He'd never played football until he got to BYU."

"That's good research there," added fellow commentator Jay Gruden. "Good work from Lasike getting it done."
