Hawaii's Zane Schweitzer has been crowed the 2016 Ultimate Waterman champion.
The 22-year-old won three of the seven water disciplines, and picked up a third in the 16km stand up paddleboard race to clinch the title over fellow American Danny Ching.
"I have been training for this event all of my life without knowing about The Ultimate Waterman," Schweitzer said.
"This event truly broadens a surfers horizons beyond what they are used to, it makes them step outside of their comfort zone and try new things."
The Ultimate Waterman tests athletes' abilities above and beneath the water, with one of the events involving running weights along the bottom of a swimming pool.
