Boxing devotee and Joseph Parker's former mentor, Sir Bob Jones, is adamant there will be no heavyweight title fight for Parker this summer.

Speaking to Brendan Telfer on RadioLIVE's Saturday sport, Sir Bob believes Parker needs to fight higher ranked opponents before fighting for the vacant WBO and WBA belts.

"We won't because we would have to see Joseph fight a top contender," he says.

"Joseph is hard to rank because he has never fought a top 20 fighter."

The 76-year-old believes Alexander Povetkin, Deontay Wilder and Wladimir Klitschko should fight for the belts.

"The reason why is because they have the qualifications. They have fought top fighters."

Sir Bob also believes most of Parker's opponents have been "rubbish" and can't be called a champion till he fights a highly ranked opponent.

"Joseph can't be rated in the top 20 because to date he hasn't fought anybody in the top 20," says Sir Bob.

"You can say the same about so many boxers today, including Anthony Joshua."

Sir Bob was Parker's manager for the first four fights of his professional career before quitting.
