Roger Tuivasa-Sheck has been ruled out for the rest of the NRL season after suffering a knee injury against the Bulldogs on Saturday night.

Tuivasa-Sheck, who was the Warriors star signing in the off-season, was forced from the field after 16 minutes at Westpac Stadium in just his seventh appearance for the club.

Scans today showed the 22-year-old has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

Warriors coach Andrew McFadden said Tuivasa-Sheck would have surgery in three weeks.

"Roger is absolutely shattered and so is everyone around the club," said McFadden.

"We had huge expectations about what he would bring to us this season and he was so excited about the role he had to play. He had settled in well developing his combinations and timing but now this. It’s the cruel side of football – we’ve certainly had more than our share of bad luck."

The Warriors next play the Storm in Melbourne.
