Whether you're a parent in waiting, one that's trying to survive the terrible twos, or trying to keep an eye on your unpredictable teen, then listen up - this week's app instalment is just for you.

Everyone knows being a parent can be the hardest job in the world.

So here is my gift to you this week. Let's make that job just that much easier with the help from some friendly technology.

Let's start right at the beginning.

Coming in at number one, The Bump.

This app is just as cute as its name suggests. The Bump is all about making the life of expecting parents simple and as easy as it should be.

With a plethora of real-time advice, along with a really great and friendly community, the whole point of this app is providing knowledge.

It's like having full-time midwife in your pocket.

The Bump has expert articles and one of the biggest catalogues of information of any other app on the market.

You'll be able to keep a week-by-week checklist that'll help you keep track of your bump, as well as your bundle of joy.

Best of all, it's free, and compatible on the Apple Watch.

Now that your baby is born, accept the fact that there will be accidents - we are human - and children move, a LOT.

So now that you've gotten over that let's give you some tools to help.

Coming in at number two is Baby and Child First Aid - by British Red Cross.

The best way to describe it is first aid advice at your fingertips.

This is my pick of the week simply because it's not just for parents, it's for everyone.

It'll help anyone with treating first-aid emergencies, childhood ailments, and illnesses.

Obviously if it's serious call 111 and go to the hospital - but this will help the process.

The British Red Cross has done a brilliant job getting together a very detailed database of information and presenting it in a way anyone can understand easily.

If your child chokes, suffers a nasty cut, or rolls their ankle, have no fear, you'll only be a few clicks away from knowing what to do.

Along with the information, the app has really great videos and animations too.

If you're really into it, you can also record your child's medication needs and allergies.

It's available on Android and iOS and it's free.

Now that your child has grown past their terrible twos, you're going to have to keep track of them

Coming in at number three, Family Tracker.

Now my disclaimer is I'm actually not a huge fan of "keeping track" of people - but this app is consensual, which is why it gets the big tick from me.

Family Tracker allows you to keep tabs on anyone you like, not just your kids.

Simply download it on your phone, they download it on theirs, and it works on a "accept request" basis. You ask if you can track them, they say yes, the rest is trackable history. Literally.

The app also provides a free built-in messaging service which allows you to see when they've read your message, just like Facebook.

This is where it gets interesting. You've even got the capability to get their attention by getting the app on their phone to play a loud siren from yours with a simple click.

The app costs around $3.99 on Android and iOS with some added in-app purchases you can choose to get.

So there it is, the best apps of the week parent edition.

Happy parenting!
