PlayStation unveils Virtual Reality

PlayStation is celebrating 20 years in New Zealand living rooms and to mark the milestone, it's unveiled the next generation of gaming: Virtual Reality.

It's like being dressed for some high-tech masquerade ball - it's the new look and the new way to look at video games

PlayStation's Virtual Reality (VR) is yet to be released, but today 3 News were the first to try the VR version of Drive Club.

It's a drastic contrast to the original game, which launched 20 years ago.

Several games have been built to work with VR although most are too graphic to demonstrate.

One of the games, the Shark Tank, quite literally immerses the player.

No price has been set for VR yet but PlayStation hopes to release it in New Zealand.
