A baby sea otter rescued off the Californian coast now has a new home, and Californians have a new friend at San Diego Sea World.

The baby otter was found abandoned on the beach in Santa Barbara in September. Underweight, the creature was transported to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, where it went under six weeks of rehab.

Last week it was brought to Sea World. Since then she's been on a special formula milk every four hours, with attempts to feed her solids in between.

She now weighs more than three kilograms, and is on the way to good health.
