BP is cleaning up an oil spill in Alaska, following the rupturing of a well line on Thursday (local time).
Thirty-four acres were sprayed with crude oil and natural gas, in the state's North Slope region, reports Reuters.
The exact amount of liquid that leaked form the line remains unknown and is being investigated by BP and Alaska's Department of Environmental Conservation.
Production in the line has dropped around 10,000 barrels a day since the accident happened.
In 2010 BP was held responsible for a massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, and forced to pay US$4.5 billion (NZ$5.5 billion) after pleading guilty to a raft of charges. Three BP employees were also charged, two of them with manslaughter.
