A British teacher has escaped with minor injuries after the car she was travelling in was flipped over by an elephant.

Sarah Brooks was visiting the Kruger National Park in South Africa to celebrate her engagement, when she and her fiancé drove close to a large bull (male) elephant.

Video captured by someone in a vehicle behind them shows the elephant charging, tipping the car over and then pushing it off the road.

National Park rangers later shot and killed the animal.

Ms Brooks was flown to hospital after reportedly being gored in the thigh by one of the elephant's tusks. Her fiancé escaped unharmed.
