Is Bigfoot dead?

A man in the United States claims he has killed Bigfoot – and says he's got the proof.

But when he took it on the road, he didn't exactly get a warm reception. Rick Dyer was shunned in Phoenix, so now he's trying Albuquerque.

It's not the first place you would think to find Bigfoot – inside a trailer being hauled around the country.

Some say it looks like it's part of a circus act but Dyer, a self-proclaimed Bigfoot hunter, says this is the real deal.

He says he shot the creature in September 2012 in woods outside San Antonio, and has grainy cellphone video he says is proof Bigfoot was alive before that.

But if the name Rick Dyer sounds familiar – it should.

In 2008 he was busted trying to pass off a rubber suit as Bigfoot's body – a complete hoax.

Now Dyer claims he did shoot one before that stunt, but the US government took it.

Not surprisingly, the sceptics' society isn't buying it, saying the known hoaxer is just out to make money.

Venues in Phoenix, including the International UFO Conference, said they didn't want his exhibit – and so far Albuquerque venues haven't welcomed him either.

Dyer says his Bigfoot stands 2.4m tall and weighed almost 360kg after he killed it.

Not only that, he says there is a second Bigfoot he shot that same day, which he plans to debut in Texas.
