One of the two radio hosts who took part in the telephone prank to Kate Middleton’s London hospital has returned to work.

Michael Christian was suspended two months ago by 2dayFM in Sydney after the nurse who answered their call was found dead.

Mr Christian is hosting the 10am to noon show on Melbourne station FoxFM under his DJ moniker “MC”.

Rhys Holleran, CEO of 2dayFM and FoxFM’s parent company Austereo, says the station is happy to have Mr Christian back on air.

“We have always supported our talent returning to work when appropriate, and today marks that occasion for Michael,” Mr Holleran said in a statement.

Mel Greig, the other DJ who took part in the hoax call, remains off work on stress leave.

The duo caused controversy when they made the prank call to King Edward VII hospital in December.

The Duchess of Cambridge was being treated there for acute morning sickness, and the DJs pretended to be members of the royal family in an attempt to get more information about the Duchess’s condition.

The story took a tragic twist when nurse Jacintha Saldanha committed suicide three days after transferring the call to another nurse, who revealed private information.

Earlier this month British prosecutors announced that the DJs would not face criminal charges over the call.

An inquest into Ms Saldanha’s death is due to begin on March 26.
