Toddlers have been involved in at least 23 shootings in the US so far this year.
Just last week, a Milwaukee toddler shot his mother after finding a gun in the back seat of the car they were in.
In the US since April 20, there have been at least seven cases where a child under three shot themselves or somebody else.
Gun safety organisation Everytown has tasked itself with keeping tabs on these "preventable" shootings.
"More than 2 million American children live in homes with guns that are not stored safely and securely," it says.
Everytown believes the number of incidents involving death and injury are significantly underreported.
According to Everytown's research, the US has one of the highest rates of unintentional child gun deaths in the world.
"These aren't accidents. They're preventable," says Everytown. "More than two-thirds of these tragedies could be avoided if gun owners stored their guns responsibly and prevented children from accessing them."
