Surveillance footage of the 2011 Oslo bomb attack carried out by mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik has been released by Norwegian broadcaster NRK.

The video recording shows Breivik parking a white van at the government headquarters in central Oslo on July 22 last year. He walks away, and the home-made 950kg fertiliser bomb inside the van explodes less than 10 minutes later.

Eight people were killed by the blast, and several were severely injured.

Following the explosion, Breivik travelled to Utoeya Island where he killed a further 69 people, more than half of them teenagers, at the summer youth camp of the Norwegian Labour Party.

Breivik was later sentenced to 21 years in prison, with provision for this to be extended while he is considered a threat.
