The best movies of the 2010 - 2019 decade, according to critics

As the 2010s draw to a close, it's time for film lovers to look back at the very best movies of the decade.

Aggregator website Metacritic constantly monitors critical reviews of every major film release and calculates a numerical score out of 100 for each.

Now, at the end of the decade, we can use Metacritic to find out what were the best reviewed films released between 2010 and 2019.

Richard Linklater's Boyhood has come out on top as the only film with a perfect 100 score.

The epic story about growing up was filmed over 12 years with the same cast as lead star Ellar Coltrane grew up in real life, and was labelled a "pure and unmitigated pleasure" by Newshub's Kate Rodger.

Other high-ranking films on the list include Oscar Best Picture winners Moonlight and 12 Years a Slave, two Alfonso Cuarón movies - Gravity and Roma - and this year's hit Korean film Parasite.

Have a look through the list and you may see films you passionately loved, others you absolutely hated, and hopefully discover a new favourite or two.
