British broadcaster Piers Morgan has once again criticised Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

Morgan said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's recent treatment of the Queen shows a "staggering disrespect".

It comes after the couple posted a statement claiming their grandmother doesn't own the word "royal".

"The staggering disrespect these two keep showing to the Queen is outrageous. Who the hell do they think they are?" Morgan posted on Twitter.

Earlier this week, it was reported Queen Elizabeth had ruled it "no longer tenable" for Harry and Meghan to use "Royal" or "Sussex Royal" in their branding.

Despite the ban, the couple hit back with a snarky statement.

"There is not any jurisdiction by The Monarchy or Cabinet Office over the use of the word 'Royal' overseas," the pair's website said.

Morgan, reacting to the news, continued to rant on Twitter.

"I've never seen any royal publicly try to challenge the Queen's authority like this," he wrote.

"Why are you putting the Queen through all this extra stress when she's 93, her 98-year-old husband Philip has been very sick, & she's had to fire her son Andrew over a huge ongoing scandal?"

When Kevin Pietersen - a British-South African cricketer - told Morgan to leave the pair alone, Morgan lashed out at the sportsman.

"Pipe down you clueless, sycophantic clown. They released a lengthy statement last night directly challenging the Queen's authority. I will continue to support Her Majesty & the Monarchy against the Sussexes' shameful efforts to have their royal cake and eat it. End."

This is not the first time Morgan has criticised the royal couple.

Following the pair's decision to step down from their roles, Morgan called the couple a  "pathetic joke".

The Good Morning Britain host also mocked the pair's decision to limit traditional media access, favouring younger journalists and social media.

"I chuckled with disbelief as I read this. Even Vladimir Putin wouldn't pull a stunt to control the press like that."
