The Edge's Meg Mansell 'so nervous' as she leaves breakfast show on maternity leave

The Edge breakfast host Megan Mansell has said goodbye to listeners and her colleagues as she leaves the show to go on maternity leave.

The broadcaster said she was "so nervous" in a social media post before her departure, adding that she'd "never had this much time off work" in her adult life.

"I'm nervous about becoming a parent and what the future brings," she said.

"Love you all, thank you for all the support and patience over the past eight and a bit months while I've been nauseous and exhausted."

Mansell said she would pop back into the show from time to time, but was looking forward to listening to her co-host Clinton Randell and fill-in host Steph Monks over the summer.

In April, the radio host announced she was expecting her first baby with her husband and former Edge colleague Guy Mansell.

The pair were engaged in 2018 and got married last year.
