Pete Davidson hires extra security after Kanye West's threatening lyrics - report

Pete Davidson - who recently struck up a romance with Kim Kardashian - has reportedly beefed up his security detail amid threats of violence from Kanye West.

West, who has officially changed his name to Ye, raps in his latest track with The Game: "God saved me from that crash/ just so I can beat Pete Davidson's ass."

According to Radar, it's not necessarily Kardashian's estranged husband himself that Davidson is concerned about, but rather the 'Heartless' rapper's fans.

"Pete isn't worried about Kanye, but he is concerned about the massive fanbase that Kanye has," an insider reportedly told the outlet.

"[Kanye's] devoted followers listen to his songs and act upon them. That's why Pete is now using security."

The source added that the Saturday Night Live comedian had only recently hired security to be with him when he was out and about, and hadn't previously felt the need for extra protection - even when he was engaged to pop star Ariana Grande.

"But dating Kim is a totally different level of fame. Pete is now a superstar, which comes with a price. As much as he still wants to be low-key and hang with his friends, the reality of his situation has changed."

Davidson's increased entourage comes after news broke that West was being investigated for assault after allegedly punching a man who was asking for his autograph outside a nightclub.

Elsewhere, the hip-hop star has seemingly made it his mission to air his family's dirty laundry. He claimed was banned from attending his daughter's birthday party during an angry Instagram live video, and accused Kardashian of preventing him from entering his children's home in an interview with Hollywood Unlocked

"That's what I want everybody to know - don't play with me, don't play with my children, and ain't no security gonna get in between me and my children and you ain't gonna gaslight me and you ain't gonna run this narrative on me," he said.

West made further digs at Davidson in that interview, saying: "I am hearing that the new boyfriend is actually in the house that I can't even go to."

He also referenced Kardashian's on-screen kiss with Davidson, which took place when she hosted Saturday Night Live before her new relationship went public.

"How are you gonna bring me to SNL and kiss the dude you're dating right in front of me, and everybody's like, 'Aw, that's cool'?" West said.
