Review: Nude Tuesday is a must-see, hilarious cinema experience

A new local film has just arrived in cinema, a comedy called Nude Tuesday.

Where do I start?  A comedy where the meaning "lost in translation" is a recipe for some of the barmiest yet somehow enlightening cinematic shenanigans you'll see on the big screen. And see it you must.

Like Jemaine Clement says, Nude Tuesday is spoken entirely in a foreign language - foreign even to the greatest linguists on the planet because it's a made-up one from Kiwi filmmaker Jackie van Beek.

A distinctly Scandinavian flavour permeates proceedings as the story of Bruno and Laura unfolds. Their woefully depleted marriage is on the rocks so off they head to a couple's retreat, a last-ditch trek to the wilderness where Bjorg (Clement) the sex guru rules the roost.

Honestly, I really don't know what else to say. This version of the film New Zealand audiences will enjoy has been subtitled by BAFTA-winning British comedian Julia Davis and it's hilarious.

Regardless of what you're wearing and what day of the week it is, Nude Tuesday will undoubtedly get a giggle out of anyone with a pulse.

Laugh out loud lunacy and a four-and-a-half star watch.
