Emily Blunt has revealed Peaky Blinders actor and Oppenheimer co-star Cillian Murphy went to extreme measures to prepare himself for the role of the father of the atomic bomb, J. Robert Oppenheimer.
The highly anticipated movie opens in cinemas on Thursday, July 20 and is expected to feature in the Academy Award nominations for next year.
The film portrays the physicist at various stages of his life and in one scene, Murphy is seen looking gaunt and emaciated in his portrayal of Oppenheimer.
Speaking on his dramatic transformation, Blunt told The Project most of the stars ate together at one restaurant on the set of the Christopher Nolan film - except for Murphy.
"Cillian was eating celery in his room by himself," she said. "That's because he's a professional, he is."
