Super Bowl 2024: AM host shocked Usher announced for halftime show

Usher is to headline the Super Bowl 2024 half time show.

The news that the singer will play Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on February 11, 2024 surprised AM co-host Laura Tupou.

Discussing it with co-host Ryan Bridge on Monday, Bridge said he'd had a somewhat confused reaction from Tupou.

"Big news for the Super Bowl," Bridge told viewers ahead of the news.

"They've had all the big names there - Michael Jackson was there, Beyonce was there.

"Their latest host - none other than Usher.

"I said to Laura this morning, 'Usher's doing it' and you said 'what?' - you didn't quite understand."

"No I was like, what, when did he last release new music?" Tupou said.

She quickly followed that up with: "He is good though, and he's a great entertainer because he's so good at dancing."
