Review: Anatomy of a Fall was well worth the wait

The winner of this year's Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival has finally landed in Kiwi cinemas - and it's well worth the wait.

It's called Anatomy of a Fall and the film is already getting Oscars buzz.

A French filmmaker and a German actor - it's a universal story which is as much a dissection of a marriage as it is a courtroom procedural.

Anatomy of a Fall is a slow burner of a film and deserved winner of the Palme d’Or this year.

Anchored by a stunning performance from Toni Erdman actor Sandra Hüller, this film kicks off with the sudden death of a woman's husband.

She's a successful author, accused of murdering him.

Their blind son is the sole witness, but which truth will he speak?

Four-and-a-half stars.
