A pair of New Zealand winemakers have taken home a prestigious international award for their Sauvignon Blanc collaboration with Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker.
Invivo and Co founders and old school friends Tim Lightbourne and Rob Cameron were awarded 'Best Launch of the Year' at the 2020 Drinks Business Awards, which recognises outstanding companies in the alcoholic drinks industry.
Parker filmed a video of her acceptance speech from her home in New York, while both Lightbourne and Cameron filmed theirs from Auckland, dressed in black-tie.
"This was a wonderful surprise, enormously flattering and a great honour," said Parker.
"I want to thank everyone at the Drinks Business Awards for including our little brand.
"We're tickled and thrilled and of course all credit is due to the great small but mighty team of Tim Lightbourne and Rob Cameron."
The Kiwi winemakers agreed with the sentiment, adding that credit also had to go to "the marketing team, the winemaking crew and all our distributors".
"We are very pleased to win this prestigious award and recognised for all the hard work that went into launching the brand with Sarah Jessica Parker.
"In the first month alone, we simultaneously launched in five countries. There were media interviews, launch events, digital campaigns and point of sale all rolling out to organise - it was a real team effort."
It's another medal for the Sauv which has now received six gold medals in international wine competitions and three 90+ ratings.
Last year the Hollywood A-lister joined the board of the company, which is also known for producing the Graham Norton branded wine and gin.
The Sauvignon Blanc has now sold over 500,000 bottles worldwide in 12 months.
