If you're one of those sweet-toothed souls still mourning the loss of Snifters from the shelves, you're about to get a giant hit of nostalgia.

Cadbury announced on Thursday it's launching a new Pascall Snifters inspired block, combining Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate with chewy Snifters mint-flavoured marshmallows.

The original Snifters were a classic cinema-going snack: Small balls with a peppermint outer shell, and chocolate and nougat filling.

They were discontinued in 2009 thanks to lack of consumer interest.

But Cadbury says the launch of new Pascalls Snifters 'Lumps' last year was successful.

"Given the positive response we received [then] like a no-brainer to roll out season two," says Will Papesch, head of marketing at Cadbury New Zealand.

"Snifters continue to be one of our most highly requested flavours and we're delighted to bring it back to Kiwis in another new form.

"We think Snifters fans will love this new take on their iconic movie treat."
