An "enraged" Australian woman who caught her boyfriend cheating has been sentenced after her brutal act of revenge went too far.
Heidi Jane Schneider, 24, walked in on her boyfriend sleeping in a hotel bed with another woman, the Messenger reported. A fight then broke out between Schneider and her partner.
Schneider, who was high on methamphetamine, saw the other woman laughing and was "enraged". In a spur-of-the-moment action she grabbed the woman's phone and fled, Schneider's lawyer Thomas Press told the court.
She went through the phone and found pictures and videos of the woman engaging in sex acts with her partner and other men - so she sent them to the other woman's boyfriend.
Schneider pleaded guilty at Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday to theft and distributing invasive images.
"Your rage really should have been at your partner, he was the one that was cheating on you," Magistrate Teresa Anderson said.
Schneider was handed an AU$1000 12-month good behaviour bond.
Press said Schneider has since turned her life around by finding employment and kicking her meth habit.
