In celebration of the upcoming Bledisloe Cup matches, Uber is offering New Zealanders rides and food delivery for half the price - and some of the country's biggest rugby stars are onboard to help spread the word.

The promotional campaign will launch publicly this weekend and feature Black Ferns Liana Mikaele Tu'u, Maiakawanakaulani Roos, Tenika Willison and Katelyn Vaha'akolo, as well as All Blacks Ethan de Groot, Dane Coles, Ardie Savea and Sam Whitelock.

Customers may see drivers wearing All Blacks and Black Ferns uniforms on game days, Uber said.

Using the codes listed below on the days of the games, Uber Eats orders made anywhere in Aotearoa will get 50 percent off, but the 50 percent off UberPool rides are only available in Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington.

"We are proud to announce Uber and Uber and Uber Eats as the official ridesharing and on demand food delivery partner of NZR [New Zealand Rugby]," said NZR CEO Mark Robinson.

"It is important to provide fans across the country who are not able to attend a match with a great match day experience, be it at home or out with friends and whanau. Uber Eats and Uber are helping us achieve this, while also supporting local restaurants and drivers which is great to see."

Uber said the campaign will feature the local sports stars "sharing orders and rides in some very relatable circumstances".

Ahead of the campaign's launch, three All Blacks answered a series of questions for Newshub about how they like to eat and ride.

  • Do you have a game day ritual with food?
Yeah, I suppose my pre-match meal is always mashed potato, pasta and some chicken. I've been doing it for the last 16 years.
  • Where is the best city in NZ for food?
Auckland is pretty good, they've got some great pizza joints. I love it there and there is always a different mixture as well.
  • Where is the best city in NZ for coffee?
Wellington definitely has some good coffee carts and good places to drink coffee.
  • When you're on the road, what's your favourite city to tour?
That's a tough one. I'm gonna say South Africa. Johannesburg and Durban are special places that are different and that you don't really get to experience anywhere else in the world. They are great places to play because they are really passionate about the footy and they're great people as well. And they've got great meat, lots of meat. Good braai.
  • What is your favourite delivery order?
Tacos, burritos and chicken goes pretty good.
  • Who are you most likely to share an Uber with in the current ABs squad?
Someone that would be paying, probably Jordie Barrett. He Ubers around a lot in Wellington so I would jump in with him
  • When riding do you prefer quiet or conversation with drivers?
Probably conversation but it's funny because you always seem to ask the same questions which he's probably heard a thousand times - "how's your day been" - but I do try a little chat and see how the days gone and develop a bit of a connection… there's some pretty cool drivers out there
  • What music would you play during a ride?
I'm old-school, maybe a bit of CCR (Creedence Clearwater Revival).
  • Are you always looking to charge your phone in a Uber, or do you always have full battery?
I'm always fully charged, I've got three kids and so I need to make sure that my wife can get a hold of me.

  • What is your favourite cuisine type?
That is a tough one. To be honest I like New Zealand produce so it is hard to go past steak from a good steak house.
  • Do you have a game day ritual with food?
It's the same thing before every game - chicken, mash and spaghetti. But in the mornings, I like to get a coffee and eggs benedict with ham.
  • Where is the best city in NZ for coffee?
Probably Dunedin. It's certainly where I get most of my coffee.
  • Where is the best city in NZ for food?
That's a tough one but probably Auckland, they've got more options.
  • When you're on the road, what's your favourite city to tour?
I like Melbourne, it's a pretty cool city. And I've only been over there once but South Africa was pretty unreal with the meats and stuff they cook over there.
  • Who are you most likely to share an Uber with in the current ABs squad?
Probably Samisoni Taukei'aho as we room together a lot. And if we're overseas anywhere, we will probably be out for a coffee.
  • How often do the drivers recognise you and do they pass on any coaching tips?
Not really. They normally just think oh, well, who's this big guy? I just sort of make things up and say I am a bouncer.
  • What music would you play during a ride?
I'm pretty good for anything. It depends whether it is the day or night but don't mind a bit of rock and a bit of reggae is good too.

  • Do you have a game day ritual with food?
I always try to go for Asian cuisine, again plenty of sushi just because it's good nutritionally and has a bit of carbs. So yeah, I've just always kind of had that the night before my game day.
  • Where is the best city in NZ for food?
That's a hard one but I'd say Wellington because there's a lot of diversity of cuisines around there and the cafes are great and there are these great local markets.
  • When you're on the road, what's your favourite city to tour?
I can't say Japan again but I do love Japan. I gotta say I love Italy too. Just because of the pizza and pasta.
  • What is your favourite food on Uber Eats?
I love sushi and sashimi - can always get around a good dragon roll.
  • What music would you play during a ride?
R&B, and country music is interesting.
  • Who are you most likely to share an Uber with in the current ABs squad?
I'd say Rico Ioane because he's got good banter. I know him and we're good friends with similar music tastes.
  • How often do the drivers recognise you?
Sometimes, because obviously when I order it they see the name. But generally not really.
  • Are you a front or backseat passenger?
    Backseat 100 percent.
