Julia Fox has revealed her breakup with Kanye 'Ye' West saw her dropped from a lucrative million-dollar deal with a prominent fashion label, the latest in a string of claims levied against the controversial rapper.
The 32-year-old briefly dated West in early 2022 following the rapper's high-profile split from ex-wife Kim Kardashian, with whom he shares four children.
While the whirlwind romance generated a flurry of headlines, it also sparked interest in Fox, then a burgeoning but little-known actress aside from her feature film debut in 2019's Uncut Gems. It was this connection to West that also underpinned a major business transaction, Fox has revealed - which was called off almost immediately after they called time on their relationship.
In her new memoir Down the Drain, Fox wrote that West, 46, had helped her secure the million-dollar deal with an unnamed Italian denim label after she floated the idea in the early days of their courtship.
"The next day, he puts me in touch with an Italian denim company and they start negotiating on my behalf," she wrote in the memoir. "I can't believe this is my life, but I can definitely get used to it."
Fox and West went on to famously wear matching denim ensembles for Paris Fashion Week in January 2022.
However, the deal was dropped as soon as news of their split hit the headlines, Fox said, claiming she was told the partnership was "contingent on [her] being his girlfriend".
The book contains a series of revelations - some disturbing - regarding her and West's short-lived relationship, including the claim he offered to fund a boob job for Fox during a game of Uno.
According to excerpts of the memoir shared by The Guardian, Fox and West had been in a hotel room playing games when he offered to pay for her to undergo a breast enhancement.
"'I'll get you a boob job if you want'," he reportedly said, which Fox declined.
Fox told The Guardian she later realised she was "being used as a pawn in this grand master plan to get back" at Kardashian, adding: "That's humiliating... that's a really shitty position to be in."
Elaborating on her claims in a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, Fox said she felt like West's "little puppet", as well as implying she was blacklisted from certain projects due to her association with the star.
"I know for a fact I've been up for certain things and couldn't do it because of dating Kanye. It's kind of wild," she said.
Despite Fox saying she understood the contentious music mogul "on a visceral level", she noted she was never emotionally invested in their romantic connection.
"It really wasn't that big of a deal, but other people made it such a big deal."
Post-West, Fox said she swore off dating for a period but still doesn't "see the point" in flings, adding: "That romanticised idea of men doesn't exist anymore."
She shares a two-year-old son Valentino with ex-husband Peter Artemiev.
Earlier this week, it was widely reported West enforces a strict set of rules for his current partner Bianca Censori, including what she wears, what she eats, how often she exercises and that she "never" speaks. An unnamed source told the Daily Mail the 'Gold Digger' rapper has issued a series of stipulations for Censori to abide by, which includes "never speak and wear what he wants her to wear".
"She is also required to eat certain food items and to work out even though Kanye doesn't work out," the source went on. "She has no mind of her own anymore and obeys him because he has convinced her that they are royal."
According to reports, West and Censori were officially married last year, despite it previously being believed that their union wasn't legally binding.
